I re-joined Weld Re-8 in 2018 as District MTSS, ECE and Assessment Coordinator.  I previously worked in the district at Butler Elementary as a 3rd grade teacher and Reading Interventionist from 2004-2013.  I then served in the St. Vrain Valley School District as a Dean of Students.  I look forward to working in Weld Re-8 as the Principal of Twombly Elementary starting the 2023-24 school year.  I am a graduate of Metropolitan State College of Denver where I earned my BA in English and Elementary Education.  I also attended CU Denver and earned my MA in Leadership and Administration.  I live in Brighton with my husband Darryl and son Brock.  We keep busy through youth sports with our son, visiting family in Colorado, Wyoming and Nebraska, skiing and snowboarding and other Colorado activities.

I am honored and humbled to join the Twombly Elementary family as your new assistant principal. It is a true privilege to serve in this leadership role, and I am excited to partner with our incredible staff, students, and families.

Since 2013, I have worked in education as a secondary social studies teacher in Grand Junction, Greeley, and Keenesburg. Most recently, I served for four years as the Dean of Students at Chappelow K-8 Arts Magnet School in the Greeley-Evans School District. Along the way, I have earned a master's degree in curriculum development, a second master's in educational leadership, and I recently completed my doctoral degree in educational leadership.

My wife, Shannon, teaches fourth grade in the Windsor School District, and together we are raising three wonderful daughters—Emma, Alice, and Olivia—who keep us on our toes and bring joy to our lives. As a family, we love spending time outdoors, and my wife and I especially enjoy SCUBA diving. In my free time, I also enjoy writing and publishing both fiction and non-fiction books that reflect my wide-ranging interests.

I firmly believe in the transformative power of education. Every student can thrive, and it is our sacred responsibility as educators to support, empower, and uplift each child, every day, no matter what. I look forward to getting to know you and working together to make this school year one of growth, connection, and success at Twombly Elementary.
